Sarah Smart is an English actress whose mother, Pat Smart, is a scriptwriter. She has two sisters and one brother. Notably, she descends from Grace O'Malley, the 16th-century Irish pirate known as the 'mother of all rebellions'. However, her role in the series 'Funland (2005)' is that of Carter Krantz who arrives in Blackpool to investigate his mother's murder. He takes a job at a local strip club and uncovers dark secrets about the town, including suspicions that his boss might be involved.

Detective Inspector Charlie Wormwood arrives in Blackpool following the murder of his mother, whose body was found at Funland amusement park. With only vague clues to go on, he investigates while also dealing with local corruption and his own troubled past. The series consists of eleven episodes (one fifty-minute episode followed by ten half-hour installments).
