Detective Inspector Charlie Wormwood arrives in Blackpool following the murder of his mother, whose body was found at Funland amusement park. With only vague clues to go on, he investigates while also dealing with local corruption and his own troubled past. The series consists of eleven episodes (one fifty-minute episode followed by ten half-hour installments).

Funland is a dark comedy thriller produced by the BBC, set in Blackpool against the backdrop of Funland amusement park. Created by Jeremy Dyson and Simon Ashdown, it follows Detective Inspector Charlie Wormwood's quest to find his mother's killer while navigating local intrigue and his own personal demons.
