Jennifer Anne Garner, born April 17, 1972 in Houston, Texas and raised in Charleston, West Virginia, began her acting career after studying theater at Denison University. She made her screen debut in the TV adaptation of Danielle Steel's 'Zoya' (1995), had guest television appearances, and supporting film roles before gaining recognition for her leading performance as CIA officer Sydney Bristow in the spy-action thriller series 'Alias' (2001-2006). For this role, she won a Golden Globe Award and was nominated for four consecutive Emmy Awards. She also starred in films like 'Daredevil' (2003), 'Elektra' (2005), 'Juno' (2007), and 'Valentine's Day' (2010). Garner is an activist for early childhood education, a board member of Save the Children USA, co-founder of Once Upon a Farm organic baby food company, and advocate for anti-paparazzi campaigns among celebrities' children.
