In 'Resident', a post-graduate medical student named Dr. John Murphy (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan) undertakes his residency under the supervision of the enigmatic Dr. Louise Vasher (played by Adepero Oduye). As Murphy becomes more immersed in his work, he starts noticing peculiar occurrences at the hospital where he works. Patients are mysteriously dying and strange events begin to haunt him. As Murphy digs deeper into the mystery, he uncovers a sinister plot involving his mentor Dr. Vasher.
