Lynda Jean Carter, born July 24, 1951 in Phoenix, Arizona, is an American actress and singer known for her role as Wonder Woman in the 1970s TV series 'The New Original Wonder Woman' (1975–77) and 'The New Adventures of Wonder Woman' (1977–79). Standing at 6 feet tall with big blue eyes, Carter won the title of Miss World-USA in 1972. She studied acting in New York before starting her TV career with guest appearances on shows like 'Starsky and Hutch'. Her breakthrough role was as Wonder Woman, which originally aired as specials on ABC before being picked up by CBS for a few years. After the series ended, Carter had success as a Las Vegas entertainer and continues to appear in TV movies and series.
