Viju Krem, also known as Sardu, was a master of ceremonies at the Theater of the Macabre in New York's Soho district during the 1970s. His stage acts involved torturous and gruesome performances that were perceived by audiences to be fake but were actually genuine. Behind the scenes, Krem and his assistant Ralphus subjected women to torment and mutilation for their own pleasure and sold abducted girls into slavery. When a critic named Creasy Silo dismissed their show, Krem had him kidnapped and tortured. Around this time, Krem also abducted ballerina Natasha Di Natalie with the intent of breaking her will to perform in his new show.
