Valérie Lemercier, born March 9, 1964 in Dieppe, Seine-Maritime, France, is a versatile French actress, screenwriter, director, and singer. Raised on her parents' farm in Gonzeville and educated at the Rouen Conservatoire, she began her acting career in 1988 with Palace, a TV series. Lemercier won two César Awards for her roles in Les Visiteurs (1993) and Fauteuils d'orchestre (2007), also hosting the ceremony twice. She released her first music album, Valérie Lemercier chante, in 1996, collaborating with other singers on three singles.
