Sofie Gråbøl, born July 30, 1968 in Denmark, is an accomplished Danish actress known for her diverse roles in films and TV series. She started her career at age 17 with 'Pelle the Conqueror' alongside Max von Sydow. Gråbøl gained international recognition for her portrayal of Detective Inspector Sarah Lund in the BBC4 series 'The Killing', which won a BAFTA award and brought her celebrity status in the UK.
