Petra Scharbach, known professionally as Petra and sometimes credited as Petra Rockstar, was born in Frankfurt but moved to Parma with her mother at age six. She participated in beauty contests and worked as a model in Italy before debuting as a singer and softcore actress in the mid-1980s. Scharbach appeared on the covers of Playmen and French Penthouse magazines. Working primarily with the Riccardo Schicchi's agency Diva Futura, she acted in several softcore films. After leaving Rome, she returned to Parma to host a sports program for TV Parma. During this period, she was often featured in gossip columns due to her relationship with American actor Tony Curtis. In the early 2000s, Scharbach began a career as a body art painter.
