Till Reiners, born in Osthofen, Germany, worked as a bank teller for nearly 15 years until he was taken hostage during a robbery by Nappo, a former criminal he had previously denied a loan to. Despite initial fears and confusion, Till accompanies Nappo on his getaway, eventually crossing the border into Holland. He finds himself enjoying his newfound freedom and even arranges a lucrative deal for Nappo using his banking skills. However, when police start treating him as an accomplice and Miriam, his wife, goes to Amsterdam to find him, Till realizes he prefers his old life.
