Marina Foïs, born January 21, 1970 in Boulogne-Billancourt, France, is a French actress of Russian, Jewish Egyptian, German, and Italian descent. Discovered at age 16 for her comedic talent in 'The School for Wives', she joined the comedy troupe Les Robins des Bois. Foïs gained prominence with her work on the show 'La Grosse Émission' from 1998 to 2001, creating memorable characters like Sophie Pétoncule and Marie-Mûre alongside Pierre-François Martin-Laval. After leaving the troupe, she maintained a prolific film career, appearing in two to five films per year. Foïs has two sisters, Giulia and Elena, and a brother Fabio who died in an airplane crash. She has been in relationships with Maurice Barthélémy and Maxime Lefrançois, and has two sons, Lazare (born 2004) and Georges (born 2008), with director Éric Lartigau.
