Mentored by Ingmar Bergman, she began her acting journey with roles in his films 'Face to Face' and 'Fanny and Alexander'. Her international breakthrough came with the role of Sabina in 'The Unbearable Lightness of Being' (1988), earning her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
