Laura Misch Owens was born on November 23, 1953 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She moved to New Orleans at age nineteen and worked as a Playboy Bunny before becoming the Playmate of the Month in February 1975. Owens acted in several films shot in New Orleans during this period, notably 'Mandingo', 'Hard Times', 'French Quarter', and 'Mardi Gras Massacre'. She also appeared in a Miller Lite beer commercial. After her marriage to Eddie ended in divorce, Owens moved to Miami, then Denver, where she married Joe Watt. In 1997, under her married name Laura Watt, she published her first novel titled 'Carry Me Back'.
