Janet McTeer, OBE (born 5 August 1961) is an English actress known for her diverse roles on stage and screen. She began her career at RADA and made her professional stage debut in 1984. Notable stage performances include 'The Grace of Mary Traverse' (Olivier Award nomination, 1986), 'A Doll's House' (Laurence Olivier Award & Tony Award wins, 1997), 'Mary Stuart' (Tony Award nomination, 2009), and 'Bernhardt/Hamlet' (Tony Award nomination, 2019). Her film roles include 'Tumbleweeds' (Academy Award nomination for Best Actress, 1999), 'Albert Nobbs' (Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress, 2011), and 'The Menu' (2022). On television, she has starred in notable roles like 'The Governor', portrayed Clementine Churchill in 'Into the Storm' (HBO, Primetime Emmy Award nomination), and appeared in series such as 'Damages', 'The White Queen', 'The Honourable Woman', 'Jessica Jones', 'Sorry for Your Loss', and 'Ozark'.
