Hannah Simone was born on August 3, 1980, to an Indian father and a mother with German, Italian, and Greek Cypriot ancestry. She spent her early childhood in Calgary, Alberta, but moved through three continents between ages 7-10 before settling briefly in Cyprus at age 13 where she worked as a fashion model. At 16, Simone lived in New Delhi, India, attended the American Embassy School, and returned to Canada at 17. She later settled in White Rock then Vancouver. Simone earned a BA in International Relations and Political Science from UBC and another BA in Radio and Television Arts from Ryerson University. She worked as a researcher for Lloyd Axworthy's book and volunteered with the UN before becoming an actress, known for her role as Cece Parekh on 'New Girl'.
