Frieda Inescort, born Frieda Wrightman on June 29, 1901, was a Scottish actress known for her extensive Broadway career and notable film roles. She adopted her mother's surname as her professional name. Her Broadway debut was in 'The Truth About Blayds' (1922), followed by numerous productions including 'Hay Fever' (1925) and 'Escape' (1927). She moved to Hollywood in the 1930s, making her film debut in 'The Dark Angel' (1935). Notable films include 'Pride and Prejudice' (1940), 'Call It A Day' (1937), and 'A Place in the Sun' (1951). She also appeared in an episode of Perry Mason ('The Case of the Jealous Journalist'). Frieda Inescort passed away on February 26, 1976.
