Els Dottermans plays Muriel, a young woman who leaves her small village for Brussels to work as a museum guide and live independently. She rents a room from Laura, who has a child wish but leads a chaotic life due to her mother's hospital stay. Meanwhile, Muriel's mother struggles with her daughter's independence and changes at her workplace.
