Elke Sommer (born Elke von Schletz) is a German actress who began her career in Italy after being spotted by director Vittorio De Sica. She changed her surname to Sommer for easier pronunciation and became a noted sex symbol, posing for Playboy magazine multiple times. Sommer had over 90 film and television appearances between 1959 and 2005, including notable roles in 'A Shot in the Dark', 'The Prize', and 'Ten Little Indians'. She also starred in two Italian horror films directed by Mario Bava ('Baron Blood' and 'Lisa and the Devil'), with the latter later being edited into 'House of Exorcism'. After her film career, Sommer focused more on her artwork.
