Edith Minturn Sedgwick, known as Edie, was an American actress and fashion model who rose to prominence in the 1960s. She is best remembered for her role as one of Andy Warhol's 'superstars', notably starring in several of his short films during that decade. Vogue magazine dubbed her a 'Youthquaker', while she was also referred to as an 'It Girl' and 'The Girl of the Year' in 1965. Her life, marked by success and eventual struggles with addiction, is depicted in the film 'Ciao! Manhattan'.
