She has also portrayed S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, debuting in 'The Avengers' (2012). Other notable films include 'Safe Haven' (2013), 'The Lego Movie' franchise (2014-2019), and 'Jack Reacher: Never Go Back' (2016). Smulders has appeared in various TV series like 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' (2017) and 'Stumptown' (2019-2020).
