Carra Patterson, born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida with her teenage mother, graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and began acting in off-Broadway productions. She made her film debut in 'Why Did I Get Married Too?' (2010) and Broadway debut in 'Wit' (2012). Patterson appeared in notable plays like 'Jitney' (2017), portrayed Josephine Baker in 'Lovecraft Country' (2020), starred as Turner in Disney+'s 'Turner & Hooch' (2021), and played Coretta Scott King in 'Rustin' (2023). She also had regular roles in 'The Arrangement' (2017-2018) and upcoming role in CBS's 'Elsbeth'.
