Carla Camurati, born Carla de Andrade Camurati on October 14, 1960 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, began her career as an actress. She appeared in telenovelas such as 'Livre para Voar' (1984) and 'Fera Radical' (1988). Notably, she started her acting journey by dubbing another actress who had committed suicide. However, she left acting in 1994 to pursue filmmaking. Since then, she has founded Copacabana Filmes and directed multiple films. Additionally, Camurati has served as a cultural producer, chairing the International Children's Film Festival and the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro from 2007 to 2014.
