Alicia Silverstone, born October 4, 1976, began her acting career with a breakthrough role in the thriller 'The Crush' (1993), earning an MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Performance at age 18. She rose to teen idol status appearing in Aerosmith's music video 'Cryin'' and starred as Cher Horowitz in 'Clueless' (1995). Silverstone also played Batgirl in 'Batman & Robin' (1997) and was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in 'Miss Match' (2003). She is known for her activism supporting PETA and has published two vegan cookbooks: 'The Kind Diet' (2009) and 'The Kind Mama' (2014).
