Amy Davis Irving (born September 10, 1953) is an American actress and singer born to actors Jules Irving and Priscilla Pointer in Palo Alto, California. She spent her early life in San Francisco before moving to New York City as a teenager. Irving made her Broadway debut at age 13 in The Country Wife (1965-1966). After studying theater in San Francisco and London, she made her film debut in Carrie (1976) followed by The Fury (1978). Irving was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Yentl (1983). She received an Obie Award for Off-Broadway's The Road to Mecca (1988), and a Golden Globe nomination for Crossing Delancey (1988). Her Broadway credits include Amadeus, Broken Glass, Three Sisters, and The Coast of Utopia. Film roles include Deconstructing Harry, The Rage: Carrie 2, Traffic, Thirteen Conversations About One Thing, Adam, Unsane, and Kleptomania (1995).
