She won acclaim for her performance as Sera, a prostitute who takes in an alcoholic screenwriter played by Nicolas Cage, in 'Leaving Las Vegas' (1995). Shue has received numerous award nominations throughout her career.

ストーリー

Cousin Bette is a lonely seamstress who tries to insert herself into the lives of her wealthy brother-in-law, Baron Hulot, and niece Hortense after her sister's death. When she fails to gain their affection, she befriends and supports an aspiring sculptor named Marie Anne. However, Marie Anne falls in love with Hortense instead, leaving Bette bitter.
