Maja Ostaszewska, born September 3, 1972 in Kraków, Poland, is an acclaimed Polish actress. Daughter of musician Jacek Ostaszewski, she started her acting career at a young age. Trained in Kraków and graduating from PWST in 1996, Ostaszewska has performed predominantly with Teatr Rozmaitości in Warsaw under renowned directors like Krystian Lupa and Krzysztof Warlikowski. She debuted on film in 1997's 'Przystań', winning a Best Actress Award at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia the following year. Ostaszewska also appeared in Steven Spielberg's 'Schindler's List' (1993) during her acting training and was recently part of Andrzej Wajda's Katyń.

ストーリー
In 1988, Maciej Berbeka (played by Herfort) undertakes a daring winter ascent of Broad Peak, one of the world's deadliest mountains, along with expedition leader Andrzej Zawada and Krzysztof Wielicki. Despite escaping death multiple times, Maciej reaches only the Rocky Summit, twenty-three meters below the actual peak located an hour away. Upon their return to Poland, this fact is revealed, causing resentment among the team members as Zawada announced it as a great success. Maciej withdraws from mountaineering but receives a call from Krzysztof twenty-four years later, persuading him to join another Broad Peak expedition to finish what they started. After much hesitation, Maciej decides to try once again.
