Catherine Bell was born in London, England but moved to Los Angeles during her childhood with her mother. Initially pursuing a pre-med degree, she dropped out to become a model in Japan before returning to LA to act in minor film roles and TV guest spots. Notably, she served as Isabella Rossellini's body double on the set of 'Death Becomes Her' (1992), where she met her future husband Adam Deason. After writing to producers expressing her interest, Bell landed a role in JAG as Major Sarah 'Mac' Mackenzie in 1996. Known for her athletic abilities, she starred in action films like Men of War and Black Thunder. She also appeared in Thrill Seekers (2000) and briefly transitioned into comedies with Bruce Almighty (2003).
