Monia Chokri, born June 27, 1982 in Quebec City, Canada, is an actress and film director of Scottish and Tunisian Berber descent. After graduating from Montreal's Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in 2005, she began her acting career, notable for roles in Québécois films like 'Heartbeats' by Xavier Dolan. Her debut as a director was the short film 'An Extraordinary Person', which won the Prix Jutra in 2013. She directed and starred in 'Babysitter', released in 2022, earning her a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Lead Performance.
