Candela Peña, born María del Pilar Peña Sánchez on July 14, 1973, in Gavà, Barcelona, Spain, is a Spanish actress known for her role in 'Princesas' (2005). She started dance lessons at age four and pursued theater classes after high school, first in Seville and later in Madrid. Peña published the novel 'Pérez Príncipe, María Dolores' in 2001 with encouragement from Pedro Almodóvar. She won a Premio Goya award in 2003 for her role in 'Te doy mis ojos'. In 'Princesas', Peña portrays Caye, a thirty-year-old single woman working as a prostitute alongside Zulema, an illegal immigrant from the Dominican Republic, with whom she forms an unlikely friendship.
