Birgitte Federspiel (born Karen Birgitte Federspiel on September 6, 1925) was a Danish actress known for her roles in film, theater, and television. Born in Copenhagen to actors Ejner Federspiel and Gunver Fönss, she won two Bodil Awards for Best Actress - one for her role as Inger in 'Ordet' (1955), and another for her performance in 'En fremmed banker på' (1959). Later in life, she portrayed Martine in 'Babette's Feast' (1987) and Baroness von Rydtger in episodes of the TV series 'Matador'. She died in Odense on February 2, 2005, at the age of 79.
