Notable roles include Nadia in 'Rocco e i suoi fratelli' opposite Renato Salvatori, with whom she married in 1962. She headed the jury at the Berlin International Film Festival in 1992 and collaborated again with Michael Haneke in 'Caché'. Girardot passed away on February 28, 2011.
