María de Lourdes Villiers 'Mia' Farrow (born February 9, 1945) is an American actress known for her roles in over 50 films and numerous awards, including a Golden Globe Award and three BAFTA nominations. Born to Australian director John Farrow and Irish actress Maureen O'Sullivan, she had a strict Catholic upbringing in Beverly Hills, California. After working as a fashion model during her teenage years, she gained notice for roles such as Allison MacKenzie in Peyton Place (1964–1966) and Rosemary Woodhouse in 'Rosemary's Baby' (1968), the latter earning her Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations. Farrow is also known for her extensive humanitarian work with UNICEF, particularly in Darfur, Chad, and the Central African Republic.

Rosemary Woodhouse and her husband Guy move into a reputedly haunted apartment building in New York City known as The Bramford. They soon befriend their eccentric neighbors, Roman and Minnie Castevet. Rosemary becomes pregnant but starts experiencing strange occurrences, including nightmares and inexplicable illnesses. She begins to suspect that her neighbors are part of a satanic cult that has orchestrated her pregnancy for nefarious purposes. As Rosemary's suspicions grow, she becomes increasingly isolated from her friends and unable to trust anyone, causing her mental agony.
