Maribel Verdú, born María Isabel Verdú Rollán on October 2, 1970, is a Spanish actress with a career spanning nearly four decades. She began acting at age 13 with 'Captain Sánchez's Crime' (1985). Notable film credits include 'Lovers' (1991), 'Belle Époque' (1992), 'Y tu mamá también' (2001), 'Pan's Labyrinth' (2006), and 'The Blind Sunflowers' (2008). She won two Goya Awards for Best Actress. Margot, an attractive woman, supports her elderly father by drugging men on trains ('El beso del sueño') and stealing their money and jewelry. One night, her target is a currency smuggler carrying 100 million pesetas out of Spain. Unbeknownst to Margot, the smuggler is being watched by both a policeman and Salvatierra, a burnt-out alcoholic who occasionally works for a corrupt banker. Both quickly become suspicious of Margot's activities. Margot encounters Salvatierra after drugging him on a train, leading him to believe she is his protector when he wakes up. The policeman suspects Salvatierra of colluding with Margot, but Salvatierra has his own agenda involving the stolen money.
