Caterina Murino, born September 15, 1977 in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy, competed in Miss Italy in 1996 and worked as a model before studying acting at Francesca de Sapio's school from 1999 to 2000. She made her stage debut in 'Richard III' (1999) and began her film career with minor roles in Italian, German, and French productions. Murino gained prominence starring opposite Jean Reno in the French comedy 'L'enquête Corse' (2004). Fluent in Italian, French, and English, she is also skilled in singing, dancing various styles, and horseback riding. She co-starred as Solange in 'Casino Royale' (2006) alongside Daniel Craig.

A young American writer named David Bourne, fresh from his service in WWI, travels through Europe with his new wife Catherine and her Italian friend Marita.
