Lina Romay, born Maria Elena Romay on January 16, 1919, was an American actress and singer with a career spanning nearly four decades from 1972 to 2010. She is known for appearing in over 100 films directed by Jesus Franco, including notable works like 'The Bare Breasted Countess' and 'Jack the Ripper'. Romay's screen name was inspired by an actress and jazz artist of the 1940s. Before her film career, she performed with Xavier Cugat's orchestra and appeared in films like 'You Were Never Lovelier' (1942) and 'Bathing Beauty' (1944). She married twice; first to John Lawrence Adams and later to Jay Gould III. Romay passed away on December 17, 2010, at the age of 91.
