Robin Simone Givens (November 27, 1964) is an American actress known for her roles in television and film. She began acting in 1985 with appearances on The Cosby Show and Diff'rent Strokes, before landing her breakthrough role as Darlene Merriman on Head of the Class in 1986. In 1989, she starred in the miniseries The Women of Brewster Place alongside Oprah Winfrey. She gained further recognition with her roles in films like A Rage in Harlem (1991) and Boomerang (1992). In 1994, Givens posed nude for Playboy magazine, ranking No. 88 on Empire's '100 Sexiest Stars in Film History' list in 1995. She also played Roxie Hart in the Broadway play Chicago from 2006 to 2007. Her marriage to boxer Mike Tyson from 1988 to 1989 was tumultuous, with accusations of spousal abuse and defamation. Givens has two sons, Michael 'Buddy' Givens (adopted in 1993) and William 'Billy' Jensen (born in 1999). She released her autobiography 'Grace Will Lead Me Home' in June 2007.
