Manuela Martelli, born in Chile, started her acting career at age 18 without prior theater training. She gained critical acclaim for her role in 'B-Happy', winning awards at Toronto Film Festival and Havana Film Festival. She followed this with 'Machuca', receiving more accolades including Best Actress at Viña del Mar Festival and the Altazor Prize. Her third film, 'Como Un Avión Estrellado', was her first international project. After completing her art baccalaureate studies and pursuing theatrical acting career in Chile, she moved to the U.S. for film studies with support from Fulbright Scholarship and Scholarships Chile.

Il futuro (2013), directed by Alicia Scherson, is a dramatic coming-of-age film based on the novel 'The Future' by Aldous Huxley. The story revolves around Bianca and Tomas, siblings who lose their parents and must face adulthood together. While Bianca seeks change and explores the dangerous streets of maturity, Tomas remains innocent. When Bianca discovers Maciste, a retired Mr. Universe with a dark mansion, she enters his world in search of a new future.
