Jewel Shepard, born in California, is an American actress and writer best known for her roles in 'The Return of the Living Dead' (1985) and 'Party Camp' (1987). She moved to Los Angeles in the early 1980s, where she worked as a stripper and model to support herself. It was during this time that she met filmmaker Dan O'Bannon, who cast her in his films including 'The Return of the Living Dead'. Shepard has written for various publications such as Premiere and Cosmopolitan, and published an autobiography titled 'If I'm So Famous, How Come Nobody's Ever Heard of Me?' in 1996. Since 2011, she has been battling invasive breast cancer.
