Viktor Lazlo, born Sonia Dronnier on October 7, 1960, is a French-Belgian singer who studied art history and worked as a model before adopting her stage name from Paul Henreid's character in Casablanca. Born to parents originally from Martinique and Grenada, she grew up in Belgium where she gained prominence after hosting the Eurovision Song Contest in 1987. Known for singing in French, English, Spanish, and German, Lazlo's biggest hit was 'Breathless' in 1987. She released new singles 'Promised Land' and 'Lola & Jim', followed by an album titled 'Woman' in 2017.

Jack Baker, an ambitious academic, travels to Tahiti to write yet another biography of Paul Gauguin.
