Julie Bowen Luetkemeyer, born March 3, 1970, is an American actress best known for her roles as Claire Dunphy on Modern Family (2009-present), Carol Vessey on Ed (2000-2004), and Denise Bauer on Boston Legal (2004-2008). She began her acting career in the soap opera Loving in 1992, and has since appeared in films such as Happy Gilmore (1996) and An American Werewolf in Paris (1997), and TV shows like Lost and ER.
