Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon, born on March 22, 1976, began her acting career as a teenager with her screen debut in 'The Man in the Moon' (1991). She gained prominence with roles in 'Cruel Intentions' and 'Election' (both 1999), followed by lead roles in 'Legally Blonde' (2001) and its sequel, and 'Sweet Home Alabama' (2002). She won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role as June Carter Cash in 'Walk the Line' (2005). After a career downturn, she made a comeback with 'Wild' (2014), earning another Oscar nomination. Witherspoon has since focused on television productions, including 'Big Little Lies', 'The Morning Show', and 'Little Fires Everywhere'. She is also involved in children's and women's advocacy organizations.
