Walter, after serving twelve years in prison for sexual offenses, returns home and finds his family has abandoned him except for his brother-in-law. He moves into a small apartment across from an elementary school, gets a job at a lumberyard, and keeps to himself. Walter befriends a coworker named Vickie who doesn't judge him for his past. However, his secret as a convicted sex offender begins to unravel when local residents find out about it. Walter's parole officer regularly visits him, and he is shunned by his sister and suspected by Detective Lucas. After befriending a young girl in the park, Walter must confront his own demons as well as the threat of another potential pedophile lurking near schoolyards.
Directed by Nicole Kassell, 'Woodsman' (2004) is a drama film that centers around Walter, an ex-detainee struggling to reintegrate into society after serving twelve years in prison for sexual offenses. The movie explores the challenges and threats faced by Walter as he tries to rebuild his life while living with the stigma of being a convicted sex offender. Despite its limited information from sources, it's clear that 'Woodsman' delves into themes of redemption, societal judgment, and the struggle for normalcy after serving time for heinous crimes.
