Winona Laura Horowitz, professionally known as Winona Ryder, was born on October 29, 1971, and is an American actress who has received numerous awards, including a Golden Globe Award. Known for quirky roles in her early films like 'Beetlejuice' (1988) and major roles in 'Heathers' (1989), 'Edward Scissorhands' (1990), among others, Ryder gained critical acclaim for her performances in 'The Age of Innocence' (1993) and 'Little Women' (1994). In the late 1960s, Susanna Kaysen (Winona Ryder) finds herself committed to Claymoore psychiatric hospital after a suicide attempt.
