Brittany Murphy (November 10, 1977 – December 20, 2009) was an American actress and singer born in Atlanta who moved to Los Angeles as a teenager to pursue acting. She gained fame for her role as Tai Frasier in 'Clueless' (1995) and appeared in films like 'Freeway' (1996), 'Girl, Interrupted' (1999), and 'Don't Say a Word' (2001). Murphy's notable role was as Charlotte in '8 Mile' (2002) alongside Eminem, for which she received critical acclaim. She also voiced characters in animation like 'King of the Hill' (1997–2010). Her final film, 'Something Wicked', was released posthumously in 2014. Murphy passed away at age 32 due to pneumonia and complications from prescription drug addiction.
