Naomi Ellen Watts, born September 28, 1968 in Shoreham, Kent, England, is a British actress who rose to prominence after her role in David Lynch's 'Mulholland Drive' (2001). She was nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Actress for her performances in '21 Grams' (2003) and 'The Impossible' (2012). Watts moved to Australia with her family at a young age, making her film debut there in 'For Love Alone' (1986), before moving to the United States. She had relationships with Heath Ledger (2002-2004) and Liev Schreiber (2005-2016), with whom she has two children, Sasha (born 2007) and Kai (born 2008). Watts began dating Billy Crudup in 2017 and they married on June 9, 2023.

In this adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's short story, 'The Outsider', a mysterious gunslinger wanders into an isolated Mennonite-like community in the American West. Wounded and seeking refuge, he is taken in by a young widow who nurses him back to health.
