In the near future, the world is ravaged by a deadly virus that has transformed most humans into violent, cannibalistic creatures known as Savages. The few remaining uninfected survivors band together in fortified compounds for safety. Among them is Simon (Jason Behr), a young man who lost his family to the infection and now lives with a group of survivors led by the enigmatic and powerful Marcus (C Thomas Howell). When Simon discovers an apparent cure for the virus, he sets out on a dangerous journey across the infected wasteland to deliver it to other survivor compounds. Along the way, he encounters various challenges and unexpected alliances as he races against time to save humanity from extinction.
