Upon turning 18, Lidda Daniels leaves Southern California in search of her father Charlie, a professional gambler who abandoned her years ago. Along the way, she picks up Colonel, an attractive video store clerk who sees himself as a great poker player and eagerly joins her journey to Vegas. Once there, it takes Lidda time to locate Charlie, who's embroiled in high-stakes poker with his old nemesis Tony. Tony is jealous of Charlie and has taken to hiring hitmen to kill anyone who beats him at poker.
