Laura Antonelli was born Laura Antonaz on November 28, 1941, in Pola, Kingdom of Italy (now Pula, Croatia). After World War II, her family settled in Naples where she became a gymnastics instructor before moving to Rome and pursuing modeling jobs. She debuted uncredited in 'Le sedicenni' (1965) and appeared in 'Dr. Goldfoot and the Girl Bombs' (1966). Antonelli gained prominence with her role in 'Malizia' (1973), also known as 'The Malicious Angel,' for which she won a Nastro d'Argento award. Throughout her career, she starred in various films including Luchino Visconti's 'The Innocent' (1976) and appeared in several television series from 1986 onwards. Her final role was in 'Malizia 2000' (1991). Antonelli had a high-profile relationship with actor Jean-Paul Belmondo between 1972 and 1980, after which she married publisher Enrico Piacentini who she later divorced. In 1991, she was convicted for cocaine possession but successfully appealed the conviction in 2006. Laura Antonelli passed away on June 22, 2015, at the age of 73.

Malizia follows a widower and his two sons who become infatuated with Angela, their new housekeeper played by Laura Antonelli. The youngest son, Andrea, initially falls for her innocence and beauty, while the older son, Ferdinando, sees Angela as an object of sexual desire. Their father, Don Luigi, is also attracted to Angela but maintains a more respectful distance. Each man pursues Angela in his own way, with Andrea trying to woo her through sincere affection, Ferdinando attempting to seduce her with gifts and advances, and Don Luigi offering her kindness and protection. Eventually, Angela yields to Ferdinando's advances, leading to tension within the household.
