In 1960, a young and undiscovered Beatles embarks on a journey to Hamburg, Germany in search of success. While playing at seedy clubs, they meet a group of trendy German beatniks. Among them is Astrid Kirchherr, with whom bass guitarist Stuart Sutcliffe falls deeply in love. As Sutcliffe navigates his newfound romance and the band's rising fame, his best friend John Lennon watches helplessly as Sutcliffe must ultimately choose between his musical dreams and a life with Astrid.
