On New Year's Eve at 'The Islands' condominiums, several disparate lives intersect in a tragicomic dance of revelry and despair. An aging countess hosts a lavish party crashed by the soccer team from her gigolo's town. Guilia, the wealthy hostess, discovers her husband's affair with her best friend mid-dressing for the dinner party, setting off on a path of vengeance. Meanwhile, a family prepares their vintage Dodge for a nighttime drive; a call girl ties up an unsuspecting lawyer next door while thieves await the perfect moment to rob his office; and across the hall, a lonely woman attempts suicide with pills. In one bedroom, two young men smoke dope, one of them in possession of dynamite. As midnight approaches, these loosely connected groups hurtle towards disaster.
